Rick Goodstein is an arts educator who is sharing his 40+ years of experience to motivate and inspire anyone who is seeking a sustainable career in the arts.
Rick stepped away from higher education in 2021 to form an arts consulting company and
utilize his knowledge to help the next generation of aspiring arts professionals and educators.
Prior to his new venture, Rick served as Chair of the Clemson University Department of
Performing Arts and subsequently as Dean of the College of Architecture, Arts and Humanities.
Rick also served as Music Director of the Walt Disney All-American Band and Orchestra and assisted the Creative Entertainment Division of the Walt Disney Co. These experiences, as both
an educator and performer, inform Rick’s work as an arts consultant.
Rick has been consulting with individuals and arts organizations looking to take the next steps as arts professionals and educators. In 2021 Rick co-authored “The Artist Entrepreneur: Finding
Success in a New Arts Economy” and has formed R & R Arts Consulting, LLC and the Starving
Artsts – NOT! Podcast with Ron McCurdy.
